Willkommen im Trial&Error Swap Shop, geöffnet seit Mai 2012.

Wann?

Jeden Dienstag und Donnerstag, 16:00–19:00 Uhr

Das sind die einzigen Zeiten, zu denen du auch Dinge hierher bringen kannst – bitte lasse sie nicht einfach draußen liegen, sonst bekommen wir Probleme.

Warum?

Wir möchten ein Beispiel für einen umweltfreundlichen und sozial verantwortungsvollen Ort bieten, der auf der Sharing Economy basiert und nicht auf Geld fokussiert ist. Der ständige Zwang, Geld ausgeben zu müssen, um Dinge zu besitzen, schränkt unsere Freiheit ein – und die der anderen ebenso.

Neue Dinge, insbesondere Kleidung, haben hohe ökologische und soziale Kosten:

  • Chemische Farbstoffe verschmutzen Gewässer
  • Baumwollproduktion erfordert schädliche Düngemittel
  • Arbeiter:innen werden in Sweatshops ausgebeutet (denk an die Brandkatastrophe in einer Textilfabrik in Bangladesch)
  • Jährlich landen geschätzte 10 Millionen Tonnen Textilmüll auf Deponien

Wir wollen diesem Konsum-Chaos entgegentreten, indem wir Dinge teilen, die wir nicht mehr brauchen – und anstatt Neues zu kaufen, versuchen, sie hier in unserem Shop zu finden.

Wie und was?

Wir mieten diesen Raum mit Hilfe von Spenden und betreiben ihn als ehrenamtliches Projekt.

Er steht allen offen – Jung und Alt, mit oder ohne Geld, Mann, Frau oder „geht dich nichts an“, Deutsche oder Marsbewohner:innen – das spielt keine Rolle.

Was zählt, ist Respekt für den Ort. Also bitte nutze ihn nicht einfach, um unbrauchbaren Kram loszuwerden oder um nur Markensachen einzusammeln, um sie dann weiterzuverkaufen.

Es ist ganz einfach:
Bringe, was du kannst – nimm, was du brauchst.

When?
Every Tuesday and Thursday, 4pm-7pm

These are the only times you can also bring things here – please DO NOT leave them lying outside or we get in troubles.

Why?
We want to offer an example of an eco-friendly and socially-responsible place, based on sharing economy, and not focussed on money. Constantly needing money in order to acquire things limits our freedom and contributes to limiting others freedom as well.

New STUFF, including clothes, costs the earth in its production (chemical dyes pollute waterways, cotton production requires detrimental fertilizers etc), exploits workers (think ’sweat shops,‘ remember Bangladesh clothing factory fire, for eg.) and then leaves piles of waste (estimated 10 million tonnes of textile waste per year in landfills…)

We want to avoid all this consumer-chaos by SHARING things we no longer use, and instead of buying new things, trying to find them here in our shop.

How and What?
We rent this space, with the use of donations and run by volunteers.
It is open for everyone, young and old, with or without money, male or female or it’s-none-of-your-business, German or from Mars, it really doesn’t matter.
What matters is to respect the place, and not just use it to offload crappy or unusable things, or to collect all the branded/new items to later sell them somewhere else.

It’s quite simple:
Bring what you can, take what you need
